  2. Your request is reviewed
  3. Your invoice will be sent to you
  4. Settling the invoice
  5. Your question is answered

Step 1: Asking your question

The first step is simple - ask your question by filling out the request form. You must fill out all of the fields on the form. Provide any information you think is relevant to your question, and include any extra contact details which the Potter's Friend can use to respond to your query more quickly. Once you're finished, click Send Question.

Step 2: Your request is reviewed

After you click Send Question, your question will be sent to the Potter's Friend. You will see a confirmation screen (see image below) and a confirmation email will be sent to the email address you provided. This includes your request number, which is a unique reference for your question.

The Potter's Friend will review your request as soon as possible. While the vast majority of requests are reviewed within 1-2 days, it may take up to a week to prepare a full reply. In the mean time, you may receive an e-mail asking for further information on your request. The information you provide will help the Potter's Friend answer your question.

If you have not received a reply within a week, please contact the Potter's Friend directly. It is possible that he is unable to contact you with the contact details you provided.

Step 3: Your invoice will be sent to you

If he can answer your question, the Potter's Friend will request a small fee for his advice by sending an e-mail invoice to you.

At this point, there is no obligation to pay. If you do not want to continue using the service, you can easily cancel your request. Details on how to do this are provided in the invoice e-mail, or you can contact the Potter's Friend directly. You will not be charged for cancellation.

If you would like to continue and receive an answer to your question, simply follow the instructions in the invoice email to pay using a secure online payment service (PayPal). Alternatively, you can contact the Potter's Friend directly to use a different payment method or different currency.

The fee is typically very small, and will vary depending on the size and complexity of your question. Very complicated questions may cost a little more, and simple questions will cost very little. The fee can be paid in Pounds Sterling, US Dollars or Euro, depending on your location.

Step 4: Settling the invoice

Follow the instructions in your invoice email. You will be shown a confirmation page; if you would still like to continue, click on the 'Paypal' button and you will be redirected to the Paypal website, where you can securely pay for the advice.

Step 5: Your question is answered

Once the requested payment has been received, the Potter's Friend will prepare his advice and send it to you. You should receive an e-mail with your advice in full. This will probably take a few days to complete; if you have any concerns, or questions about your request's progress, don't hesitate to contact the Potter's Friend.
